Pigs-in-Blankets are the perfect party food, and don’t tell me otherwise. They are easy to make and always a crowd pleaser. As Helen Ellis notes in her book of short stories, American Housewife, pigs-in-blankets are the perfect food to get everyone to drink more punch. In fact, since pigs-in-blankets are basically just mini hot dogs, and since hot dogs are the quintessential American food, then one could say that pigs-in-blankets are the quintessential American Housewife food, no?
Ingredients
About 50 cocktail-sized sausages or hot dogs
2 cans Pillsbury crescent rolls
Directions
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
Open your package of cocktail sausages and train them using a colander and let them rest in the colander a minute, setting it on top of a paper towel to catch drippings.
Pop open Pillsbury crescent rolls and unroll them, separating the individual triangles. Cut triangles into strips that will be wrapped around the cocktail sausages.
Wrap sausages in the crescent roll strips and place them on a baking sheet.
Bake 10-12 minutes or until the crescent rolls are golden brown. Remove from baking sheet and place on your favorite serving tray.
Enjoy!
