Last Christmas, my mom gave me a copy of Lauren Graham’s memoir Talking As Fast As I Can with a copy of Eat Like a Gilmore: The Unofficial Cookbook for Fans of Gilmore Girls by Kristi Carlson. Needless to say, I was in heaven (aka Stars Hollow).

Eat Like a Gilmore is a complete guide to, well, eating like the Gilmore Girls. The book includes a huge range of recipes relating to foods eaten throughout the course of the television show. Kristi Carlson enlisted the help of chef and baker friends to put together a delicious and cohesive array of recipes.

If this is the only cookbook you ever own, you will be perfectly well off. The recipes include everything from hot beverages and cocktails to main dishes, side dishes, and desserts. Carlson & company pay close attention to detail, making sure each recipe in Eat Like a Gilmore is chock-full of Gilmorisms. Each recipe is marked with a badge, indicating its origin (Emily’s House, Town Favorite, Sookie’s Kitchen, and Luke’s Diner). There are also wonderful introductions to each recipe, situating it in the show’s plot.

The book itself is beautiful and filled with glossy photographs (with Gilmore Girls references hidden in each!), making it the perfect gift for your Stars Hollow resident. It could even make a lovely coffee table book for those of you who prefer take-out. What could be more Gilmore than that? Despite their adoration for food, none of the Gilmore girls cook, anyway!

Since Lorelai’s recipes have been featured on here accompanying a review of Lauren Graham’s memoir Talking As Fast As I Can, I’ve included Rory-inspired recipes that are so good, you’ll wonder if you, too, “are dying” (and have gone to Stars Hollow heaven).

A thousand times over, THANK YOU Kristi Carlson!
