Late-winter brings with it an array of inconveniences – frozen roads, seasonal depression, and the dreaded flu.  Although antioxidants have yet to aid in defrosting our cars and streets, they’ve been proven to increase our moods and help combat the flu and other illnesses.  For a good reminder to get some antioxidants, consult Diane Muldrow’s Everything I Need to Know I Learned From a Little Golden Book.

Antioxidants can be found everywhere, from honey, to spices, to berries, and more.  I chose to use pomegranate for this smoothie because they are among my favorite winter fruits, and are meant to bring good luck in the new year.  Whether you’re feeling sick under the weather, or just feeling sick of the weather, rev up your blender and treat yourself to a pomegranate smoothie.
