With spring still weeks away and winter weather stubbornly staking its claim, I am sure that I am not alone when I say it can be hard these days to get up and get moving. I am inclined to stay in bed as long as I can and lounge around all day.

When these feelings start to set in, I reach for a little gift someone gave me a few years back that is an instant mood enhancer. It is a beautiful little book called Everything I Need to Know I Learned From a Little Golden Book written by Diane Muldrow. The cover features a cheery vintage-styled woman holding none other than our dear childhood friend, the Poky Little Puppy!

Diane Muldrow serves as the editorial director for Golden Books and is responsible for many of our golden-bound favorites. She compiled illustrations from Golden Book’s extensive collection of children’s books to put together an inspirational narrative that it suitable for both children of all ages (even those of us who are grown!).

Without spoiling too many of the book’s surprises, anyone who grew up with Golden Books will recognize beloved characters and stories. Everything I Need to Know I Learned From a Little Golden Book is a beautiful tribute to the brand’s history and purpose that leaves you feeling warm and fuzzy… the perfect antidote to your late-winter slump.
