Myra Leigh’s Summer Tomato Gazpacho

"They made their way inside to the dining room. The table was narrow and not long enough for nine people, but had there been twenty, Myra would have packed them around it anyway. It was surrounded by a collection of mismatched chairs. The setting, though, was beautiful, with a row of short candles down the middle and lots of flowers. The china and stemware were old and smartly matched. The vintage silver was perfectly arranged." - Camino Island (John Grisham)

Fresh-Squeezed Agave Lemonade

I am always the advocate for keeping things simple and traditional when it comes to a recipe as iconic as lemonade. Why mess with a classic? But then I discovered agave-sweetened lemonade, of which I had low expectations. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that it tasted exactly like lemonade sweetened with sugar – but at only 35 calories a glass! Try it for yourself and see what you think.

Roxane’s Rosé

I firmly believe that Cyrano de Bergerac was meant to be enjoyed with a sparkling glass of rosé.  The play itself bubbles over with romance - dashing, chivalrous swordsmen pining for a fair maiden's affection, moonlit balcony encounters, poetic love letters, and the aromatic flowers and sweets found at Raguneau's bakery, where secret meetings are arranged.   A story with this much romance deserves a romantic drink.  And what could be more romantic (and French!) than rosé?

Raguneau’s Almond Tarts

"Beat some eggs till they are foamy; Mix with tangy citron juice; Then fold in sweet milk of almonds. Line your pans with pastry dough, Slowly pour your foam to fill them; Let them bake till golden brown. Now remove them from the oven: Luscious, dainty almond tarts!" - Raguneau, Cyrano de Bergerac (Edmond Rostand)
